Believe it or not it's real. Sony introduced the concept of EyePet over a year ago but any people couldn't grasp their feeble minds around the concept of having an actual virtual pet. Still many approached to Sony's vision with excitement.

The EyePet is a virtual simulator that lets you interact with a totally customizable pet. You will be given a magic card through which you can play with the little guy, pet, groom or even feed him. You can further on teach him to draw shapes or behave in specific manners. Hell if he's sleeping, make some noise and he will wake up with a jump. Hold your hand up high and he will jump up and grab your finger tips. A very strong linking to realism, you can actually say yes I have a furry 2 foot virtual monkey as a pet.
