Fix Push Notifications on iPhone Firmware 3.1.2

Ads

push-notifications-312A while back on this blog, we shared a utility named Push Fix to help users with a Jailbroken iPhone to enable Push Notifications on the iPhone instantly.

Today, through an intimation on RedmondPie, we are pleased to inform that the same utility can be used by users with a Jailbroken and Unlocked iPhone to enable Push Notifications on the iPhone Firmware 3.1.2

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. De-sync/Remove all apps from the iPhone that support the Push Notifications feature.
  2. Go to Cydia and add the repo at the URL: http://cydia.iphoneil.net
  3. Open the search and look for, 'Push Fix' and install it.
  4. Reboot the device, and sync back all the apps with Push Notification.
  5. Turn on Notifications through the Settings app.

That's it! The Push-Fix is actually a behind-the-scenes app so you really don't need to configure it, it will fix the Push Notifications all by itself.

Only users with a Jailbroken and/or Unlocked iPhone should make use of this utility as the Push Notifications works flawlessly with an Official carrier.

    Hi,

I have an unlocked jail broken 3gs, I followed instructions very closely and push notification still not working, can anyone tell me why?

I have added “iPhoneil.net” to Cydia Sources, but I can NOT find “Push Fix” in iPhoneil.net” source. It seems that Youtube works as normal after jailbroken with blackra1n. My iPhone Version is 3.1.2 and Modem Firmware is 05.11.07.
    Can anyone help?

Yes, THEY TOOK PUSH FIX OFF the sources. It had some sort of a bug, now someone fixed it but is charging around $6 USD to get it. From what I have read, the paid fix works for YouTube, but of course, you have to buy it.

DO NOT DO THIS…DO NOT DO THE ABOVE TUTORIAL BECAUSE YOU WILL GET SCREWED. What the Push Fix did wrong was to give out 1 certificate (created when you activated your Simm Card) to Many. Meaning 1 Certificate to Many iPhones. What's wrong? Well, if Joe Smith was the original source of this certificate and Push Fix uses Smith's cert and made a program for it and releases it out to the masses, then everyone will be a Joe Smith. The consequences is receiving a whole bunch or a few of unknown Push.

The same Push Fix is now under Fishbone.ge (add that into Cydia as a source) then look for Push Fix by Darks….this will fix the YouTube issue…BUT DO NOT INSTALL BECAUSE YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Read More on creating Your own Cert….Just READ BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING WITH PUSH.

I downloaded this from fishbone.de and it BRICKED my iPhone completely. Blackra1n now freezes and takes me to the dreaded “Connect to iTunes” screen every time. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Anyone?

yeap. restore. be careful about upgrading though. If you upgrade your modem´s firmare baseband you may not be able to use your Iphone no longer.

      take care
