If you own a PSP you would know that PSP titles with adhoc mode traditionally require you to play within close proximity to each other. But now with AdhocParty for the PS3, Sony wants to extend the Gaming experience for PSP users and take it to the next level.

For the layman, AdhocParty is basically an online service that allows PSP owners with a PS3 system to connect to one another via the PlayStation Network is now available to download for free from the PlayStation Store on PS3.

This brings a whole new experience for PSP Gamers who no longer require friends to be around them to play PSP titles in Adhoc. All they need to do is connect the PSP to the PS3 through Wi-Fi and then access AdhocParty to find other players who want to play the same game as they do. Although it must be noted that a wired broadband connection for the PS3 is required.

AdhocParty for PSP also supports voice chat through the Wireless Headset or PlayStation Eye. Gran Turismo, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Dissidia Final Fantasy are among the few famous titles for PSP that suppor the Ad-hoc mode. Head on to the PlayStation Store on your PS3 to download AdhocParty for free.
