Frameless Laptop being developed by Acer

For this year, rumor has it that Acer will be launching one of their most anticipated laptop which will features a multi-touch keyboard. This laptop will not have a back casing since it will be using the back of the screen’s glass substrate.

According to Digitimes,

Acer is expected to adopt Corning’s reinforced glass substrate and simply print color on its back to allow the substrate to function like a notebook cover for a frameless design. The design will help reduce the thickness of the ultra-thin notebook and can also reduce material costs.

Asus and Fujitsu have already introduced this concept a few months back. But the idea of an ultra think glass notebook with multi-touch keyboard still sounds very promising. Digitimes’ inside sources said that this new device could be launched in the second half of 2010.

But the question remains that is the rumors are correct, would you go for this device?

    It looks good and it's easier to wear than a laptop, which can annoy your shoulders and back when you carry it. Of course, it will cost a lot when it will be placed on the market, but I think that if it's made out of materials that weren't so expensive, the price won't be that high. I'd like to think that, because the colors are really attractive.I would like to know more about its components. With a clean registry, I think it'll work as a charm.

    Like any new technology on the market, at first it will be probably quite expensive, but the materials used for making it aren't that expensive. I guess we will have for Acer to release the product on market to see if we, the normal dudes, can afford it. I would like such a computer:)) You can walk with it hanging around your neck:))
