HP Slate likely to Cost Higher than the iPad

Let me begin this post by asking you a small question. In your opinion, which gadget will be priced higher, iPad or HP Slate? You are likely to say iPad, but that might not be the case. A spanish site Clipset hands-on with the HP Slate has revealed that the HP Slate might be priced higher than the $499 iPad.

Windows 7 powered Tablet is expected to arrive in US and Europe in June at the price of 400 euros or $544.The only attractive thing which HP Slate has and iPad doesn't have is the Flash technology. But that doesn't mean that it shoud be priced higher specially when you consider the fact that it is essentially a netbook adapted to a tablet form. In addition to that, the Slate doesn't have the sensational multi-touch many iPhone users have fallen in love with.

It is worth mentioning here that the official pricing is yet to be revealed, but if Microsoft decides to do so, you all can imagine the fate of the Netbook turned Tablet. Speaking of iPad, do you plan to purchase one when it rolls out on 3rd April?

You the writer of this article is an idiot. It has Windows 7. That in itself opens more possibilities than what can be done on the ipad. Initial cost maybe higher, but being able to use the software you already paid for on your PC will make it worth it.

Yes, I want an OS capable of running down batteries just running virus scans. I want an OS that can fill my web pages with advertising. I want an OS that takes about twice as many commands to get through a session. And I want an product with a usb port so I can plug in a mouse to be able to use it.

I've replaced 2 netbooks with an iPod Touch. That led to a Sony replaced by a Powerbook. And I can't wait till my iPad get's shipped.

For those who need a full OS like Win7, the HP Slate looks pretty good.
