T-Mobile HTC HD2 Sold Out in Only 4 Hours

The very recently rolled out T-Mobile HTC HD2 just keeps on getting itself in the headlines for all the right reasons. Yesterday, we told you about it being sold out on its first outing which was a bit of a shocker (pleasant one) considering the fact that it is a Windows Mobile device, a powerful one I must add.

Well today we have got even more interesting item to share with you. Guess how many hours it took for the 4.3 inch touch screen phone units to sell out? Only 4. So much for the speculation of the 1Ghz device not seeing a bright sales day.

Unfortunately, no exact and official information about the exact number of units bought is available. According to TMonews who itself regards it as a rumor, around 21k units were sold out. The interesting thing to note  here is that these estimated count includes only the retail and employee sales. Number of units sold online or over the phone aren't included in the estimation. While this count might mean little to iDevices, it means a lot for a Windows Mobile device since figures like these are more of a stranger to them. Have you purchased HTC HD2? How has your experience been so far?

Its the bomb!!! First Windows phone. IPhone?????? Nice clear screen. Not enough apps yet but i'm sure that will change with time – you can just surf the web to get what you want in the mean time

It's not a Windows phone genius. It's been out for a long time.

It was over 26,000 units after first day, and it did not sell out, since there was still some in stores on Thursday..so technically if there was as little as one in the nation then no it did not technically sell out.

Love the huge screen, but I won't get one solely because it's Windows 6.5 w/ no hope of upgrading to Series 7. Why am I always in need of new technology in the spring, before the new stuff comes out?

I spent some time with the phone prior to its release and started the Transformer movie. The screen is gorgeous but, according to the salesman, since it's much thinner than an iPhone, the sound is not nearly as good. Also, when I stopped the movie, the movie intro music continued to play in an endless loop. Neither I nor the salesman could get it to stop. Only a reboot reset it. Oh boy…another Windows OS glitch??? I'll wait for the next version with Windows Phone 7 or the next gen iPhone.

If anyone is still desperately looking to buy this phone (like I was.. lol) I recommend you go to radioshack, walmart and other parties that also carry the tmobile version. I got mine yesterday (friday) at radioshack. It is the ultimate windows mobile experience (stylus and resistive touchscreen frustrations are NO MORE!) The screen is simply the best currently in the market for a mobile phone. Just my 2 cents.

It was HELL ordering the HD2! I got the email from TMO 10min before the release date to order. From that moment I had issues. Everything from their systems were not letting them order to there was a problem with my account. Nighmare!!!!! Finally I got one ordered about 6 pm cst. Now I have to worry about the one I ordered being on backstock. This phone better be worth it!
