Engadget is back; and this time with some solid proof. It looks like photos of iPhone 4G prototype posted earlier were indeed real and authentic and this new explanation by Engadget clears it all out.
Here is what Joshua Topolsky, the editor of Engadget, says about it:
If you'll recall, the night before the iPad was revealed, we had leaked shots of the device from what appeared to be an Apple test lab. Upon further inspection of these pictures today, the aforementioned editor discovered that the new iPhone 4G we've just gotten photos of is actually sitting on the table beside the iPad prototype!
And this is not all. Gruber, the Apple critic with some gifted foresight, confirms in a blog post that this is indeed a prototype for the iPhone 4G / HD.
So I called around, and I now believe this is an actual unit from Apple — a unit Apple is very interested in getting back. I am not certain that this looks like the actual production unit Apple intends to ship to consumers.
However; we will hold our excitement for now as we are not yet sure whether it's the final design of the product of only a prototype.
A front-facing camera, 960 × 640 display and 80GB of storage are some of the confirmed features for the new iPhone. And we are also certain that it will support Multitasking out-of-the-box and will have LED Flash.
