iPhone captures 72% of Japan’s smartphone Market

Well Well Well, look who is dominating the Japanese mobile phone market. It is none other than the lovable iPhone. According to the data released by a research firm,  Apple's successful mobile gadget has captured 72% of the market.

This alone doesn't stress enough upon  the significance of the milestone. Things start to make sense when you consider the fact that the magical phone started falling in the hand of the Japanese consumers back in May 2008.  HTC the makers of the ever popular T-Mobile HTC HD2 stand 2nd with 11% of the share whereas Toshiba is standing tall at the third rank.

As you can imagine, this had a negative impact on the local mobile phone as their sales took a downslide big time. All of this points to one thing - iPhone is a global phenomena and you should definitely have one, if you haven't purchased it till now.

Apple has a huge fan base in Japan. No doubt, iPhone is a great phone but capturing 72% of the market is almost unbelievable.

Dominating the Japanese mobile phone market? This is nonsense. The news say they are dominating the Japanese smartphone market; but this one in turn only represent a fraction of the mobile market of Japan. Please correct.
