At a special press event today at the the Mountain View campus, Google mobile product management director Hugo Barra will steal the time to demo a "couple of cool new mobile features" for the Android platform.

Many believe the event would be revolve around the addition of integrated video calling support for the Android platform but according to Kara at AllThingsD, that might not be the case.

According to sources with knowledge of the announcements, who said the event will be more of a low-key show-and-tell of some slick features. A move like integrated video calling would likely get a lot more fanfare, too.

One can also speculate that Google might slip a sneak preview of the upcoming user-interface changes and new features in Android 3.0 'Gingerbread' platform but that would perhaps be to soon since it's been only some months since Google revealed Android 2.2 'Froyo' at Google I/O.

For most, the bet is on 'integrated video calling' and 'locate my phone' feature for Android since Apple's FaceTime and 'Find my iPhone' has already stolen a lot of the industry spotlight.
