Next month, we are sure that Apple will surprise us with something new. It may be the unveiling of the new iPod Touch 4 or a refresher for the iPod Shuffle, Nano or Classic line-up but we all have our definite bets on something new for the Apple TV.

It's widely believed that Apple may introduce the new Apple TV as the iTV with full TV show rentals, iOS and a AppStore but the main question remains. How will you interact with the new iTV? Dan Wineman's answer is "an iPhone without the screen".
According to Dan, the new iTV will ship with an iPhone-like trackpad with no screen that can be used with swipe, flick, drag and tap gestures to control the content on the device. Mostly of what can be considered the live child of an iPod Touch and the Magic Trackpad. Also he suggests that Apple may allow you to use your existing iPhone, iPod Touch as a controller for the iTV by the help of an app.
The concept definitely looks cool but has very less chance of becoming a reality. At $99, which is the assumed price for the new iTV, it's hard for Apple to ship such a multitouch device which does nothing other than acting as a controller.
