Google Gets Sued – No Thanks to Nexus One 3G Reception Issues

Well Well Well, what we have here. Google's very own Nexus One has gotten the search engine giants in the middle of a law suit and it is all due to the very unfortunate reception issue or the antennagate issue if you like (a term coined by Steve Jobs) that the first Android 2.1 powered phone suffers from.

Nathan Nabors of Florida is the person filing the law suit and he is doing it on behalf of its Florida and California statesman. Here is a quick run down of the charge sheet that Google will have to defend:

  • Failing to warn customers that they would not receive faster 3G connectivity.
  • Customer service not up to the mark in case of dealing with 3G connectivity issues.
  • Denying the problem with the phone even if it existed.
  • Violation of Communications Act by making false and misleading claims about the Nexus One.

The thing that is most surprising here is that Google is the only party against which the law suit has been filed. The Florida resident hasn't filed the suit against HTC the manufacturers, Qualcomm the chipset providers and T-Mobile US, the exclusive 3G carrier for the phone. Google is yet to respond to this matter.
