Today at the IFA being held in Berlin, the company unveiled its 3D smartphone which is fitted with an auto-stereoscopic 3D screen. Sharp's latest smartphone would be launched in late 2011.

No product code or name was revealed by the Japanese firm. Talking to developers, the smartphone uses the same technology which has been implemented on the Nintendo 3DS console. The smart and stylish product is surely to capture the users eye and critics eye it to be one the hottest product to be sold.

Sharp 3D smartphone features include; a glasses-free 3D parallax screen, a 3D camera, a 3D output over HDMI, video playback in 3D as well as many other advanced features which other smartphones include. The company has surely been able to design the 3D screen which is capable to deliver excellent results and that too without the glasses, developers reveal that the smartphone would require to be kept at the correct distance and angle, for the 3D screen to function correctly.

Sharp's 3D Smartphone comes with a 3.7 inch LCD screen boasting 800 x 480 resolution in 2D while converted to 3D, it delivers 400 x 480.

Sharp's baby won't be the first ever 3D smartphone as earlier Hitachi had announced of such plans and revealed that the KDDI and NTT Docomo, both Japan's carriers, would utilize its gadget. One advantage which Sharp might have over Hitachi would be the plans of launching the smartphone globally. Till date, Hitachi only plans to make the product available in Japan while Sharp from the very start wants to reach the international market.
