IFA, one of the biggest technology conference being held in Berlin seems to be bringing in news from some of the top manufacturers. Acer, which already revealed about the plans of releasing a new e-reader by next month, showcased the product at the IFA. Acer's e-reader known as LumiRead would surely be a market grab, as it plans to launch the slim and stylish designed e-reader.

Over the past few years we have witnessed a growing trend in the sale of e-readers. Every other manufacturer nowadays seems to launch its part of the contribution for the e-reader market. Analysts had predicted that for the next 2-3 years, e-readers would be one of the most performing gadgets sold on tech market shelves.
The Acer LumiRead delivers a 6-inch monochrome E-Ink display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. Packed with a data storage of 2GB which guarantees more than 1500 books in internal storage. The e-reader is also fitted with a memory card slot which lets the user increase the said capacity.
One thing which might click this e-reader as the winning point is the addition of the QWERTY keyboard and an ISBN Scanner. Book codes can be instantly scanned with the help of the ISBN Scanner. A USB port is attached to the e-reader due to which an e-book can be transfered from a PC onto the LumiRead.
Acer has also brought in the WiFi connectivity which others lag. Acer has tagged the price at 199 Euro for the normal version while the 3G version would be on shelves for 249 Euro. No exact launch date has been revealed by Acer.
