Here's a blow for all Ubuntu lovers. Just a few while back, we witnessed the release of the Ubuntu version 10.10 in beta. The development team made the latest version still in beta, appear online at its official site, flashing for download. While the OS stays in beta stage, Ubuntu team revealed that the final release would appear on October 10th 2010. So what's new in Ubuntu 10.10 Beta?
Deemed as the most important development by Team Ubuntu, the Operating system first of all gets an upgrade in the GUI. Changes can be witnessed as new wallpapers and themes appear. The powerful Shotwell photo organizer and editor can also be seen as a new edition for the Ubuntu 10.10 Beta.
Ubuntu Default Desktop edition which presents the Gnome based platform has been upgraded to 2.31 version. Updating the version adds the ability of the new API dconf and gsettings. Evolution has also been update to 2.30 version which make the OS much faster. F-Spot was replaced by Shotwell as the default photo manager. Social networking has been given a thought due to which Gwibber has been updated to adopt the recent changes made to Twitter's authentication system. The Ubuntu Software Center brings in a brand new look and feel.
Unity Interface has been made the default Ubuntu Netbook Edition. The global menu bar has also been made a part of the interface. Date/Time indicator now outlays brand new look, presenting the real calendar widget. Same way as the desktop edition, the photo management application has been replaced to Shotwell.
