One of the things that the iPad and Android users have complained while using Google Docs is the missing ability to edit documents on the go. Google has finally listened to the increasing complaints and have promised to bring the editing capability to the iPad and Android platform.

When I say editing it includes the ability to co-edit and collaborate on documents which will definitely please the business class.

Even though you can go on and criticize the search engine giants for not rolling out this feature earlier but I guess All's well that ends well is used just for just situations like these.

This announcement was made atAtmosphere Cloud Computing Event held in Paris. Google’s Enterprise President Dave Girouard had this to say regarding the mobile editing capabilities for the iPad:

Today we demonstrated new mobile editing capabilities for Google Docs on the Android platform and the iPad. In the next few weeks, co-workers around the world will soon be able to co-edit files simultaneously from an even wider array of devices.

So with editing capabilities coming in the next few weeks, will Google Docs be a worthy competitor for Apple's very own iWork suite?
