While sharing with you folks the official announcement of T-Mobile G2, we were left pondering with a couple of important questions - release date and pre-date. Thanks to TMonews, we know have answers to both the questions.
The pre-orders have started from today whereas 6th October has been set as the date on which the 4G enabled Android phone will see daylight. Here's the confirmation messages leaked out by the source which is known for performing these acts of kindness:
From September 24 through October 4, existing T-Mobile customers will be given the exclusive opportunity to pre-order the T-Mobile G2 with Google at select T-Mobile retail stores, through Care upgrades, and online at http://G2.t-mobile.com. A limited number of G2 smartphones will also be available for employees to pre-order on My T-Mobile.
The G2 is schedules to be available to all customers at select T-Mobile retail stores, Care upgrades, select retail partner locations and online on October 6.
I am still clueless as to why the pre-paid offer for the G1 successor is available to existing customers and T-Mobile representatives only. Remember, this is leaked stuff, so you are well advised to take the "we will believe it when we see it" approach.
