Free engraving finally comes to the Apple iPad

Let's admit it, we all love to have a personalized two liner message laser engraved to the back of our beloved Apple product. We've all had our iPods customized this way, though prospective iPad owners, who endear this engraving might have felt left out. Well, not any more, as Apple has finally announced laser engraving for the iPad, and the best part, it's free.

Apple has a special sales and refund policy when it comes to personalized products. For example, in the case of the iPod, Apple's Policy says:

Personalized iPods (e.g., engraved or customized in any way) may not be returned for refund or exchange under any circumstances unless such product is Dead on Arrival.

No such change in this particular policy regarding the iPad has been made yet, though the possibility can not be ruled out at any cost. Apart from that, we can expect the shipping time to get up a notch, that been from the current 24 hours to one to three business days.

If any such change in the refund policy for the iPad is made, people who tend to be on the safe side and would want to return their iPad in case of any problems, would probably shy away from the service offered.
