MySpace, a name that literally ruled as the greatest social network a couple of years back has now been fighting to keep up in this real-time advancing social network gurus such as Twitter and Facebook. From today onwards and till next month, MySpace is relaunching itself in a bid to stay relevant to the current social scene.

The first thing to notice here, is the new logo, which sports the word "my" and then a blank space, leaving it open for all types of interpretations. This exhaustive overhaul of MySpace overall layout seems like an attempt to make the website an entertainment destination, which means that MySpace has set its sights on the younger generation in particular while revamping its outlook.

MySpace CEO Mike Jones said:

the relaunch pulls us out of the social networking category to become a social entertainment destination

Trying to understand what MySpace hopes to achieve with this change, it seems fairly obvious that MySpace doesn't want to limit itself to only being a social network which is used only for sharing photos and connecting with your far off friends, rather it aims to be a destination where people can interact and share the passions that they have for TV shows, movies and bands alike.
