If you own an Android phone and like to use Google Maps on your handset which is highly likely, then hear this out - Google Maps for Android has been updated to v4.6 which brings an interesting set of new and enhanced features including option to receive real time Latitude related updates and much more.
Google Maps for Android 4.6 brings the following features:
- Google Latitude real-time updating - Want to get real time updated location of your friend? With Google Maps for Android 4.6, this is possible and all you need to do ichoose the “Real-time updating” option from your friends' Latitude profile page. That friend must have Android 2.2 enabled handset and must have v4.6 of Google Maps running on their phone.
- Filter search results - In addition to filtering out search results on the basis of distance and ratings you can also filter out search results by the newly added options namely Open now, Neighborhood and Related searches.
- Place Page Reviews - Place Pages now has a similar design to the one you become accustomed to on your desktop based browser. You can now see Reviews from around the web to see high-quality reviews about the place. In addition to that you can also read reviews posted by other Google users.
Google Maps for Android 4.6 is available for download from the Android Market and works on all devices running Android 1.6 or higher.
