We all know how hard ViewSonic has been trying to break into the tablet market where bigwigs like the Apple iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab etc exist and dominate. It would be a major feat for ViewSonic to achieve an impressive share in the already conquered market. So in pursuit of that, the ViewSonic ViewPad 7 will be entering the US tablet arena in November.

The ViewPad 7 sports a 7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo on a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor.A VGA front and a 3 megapixel rear facing camera. Internal memory stands at 512 MB expandable up to 32GB via microSD cards. The ViewPad will also have 3G capability. WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and A-GPS are all on board. A 3.5mm headset socket and a miniUSB for sync and charge, stereo speakers and microphone are also included. The ViewPad will also have access to the Google Market and will come preloaded with Google’s apps. the non-removeable battery is a 3,240mAh pack and is good for 4-6 hours of “heavy, continuous use”, atleast that's what the company claims. Despite have Froyo as the OS, the processor isn't able to support Flash Player 10.1

The ViewSonic ViewPad looks like just another tablet on the market, which is currently going through a massive influx of new tablet devices. The ViewPad, being the new kid on the block, has a lot to justify about its hefty $479 price tag, which just might induce prospective buyers to shy away from it.
