What a month November is turning out to be! With various product launches, update releases and exciting news, the anticipation is clearly clouding the air. Now starting November 7, Target is going to be the latest big chain retailer to offer Apple’s signature device, the iPhone. Here’s the best part, the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS are arriving at the company’s 846 stores.

Mark Schindele, senior vice president, merchandising, Target said:

At Target we continue to offer our guests the best in electronics so we’re happy to add  iPhone to our Target Mobile offerings. With expert support from Target Mobile specialists and in-store activation, our guests will be able to leave the store with a new, working iPhone3GS or iPhone4 in-hand

It seems like having another major retailer for the iPhone is bound to further fuel the competition between Apple and its rival cellular manufacturers. Major retailers for the iPhone include Walmart and Best Buy.

What’s uncanny is that this news comes on a day where Apple has been seen overtaking RIM to steal the title of the top smartphone maker in the United States. There is little doubt that having a company with a portfolio as massive as Target has, will not be able to boost up sales drastically for Apple, hence further complimenting its rankings amongst the smartphone manufacturers in the US.
