It seems that LG has came up with the perfect answer to start the year 2011 in the smartphone world, as it has announced LG Optimus 2X, world's first dual core smartphone. And Yes, you guessed it, the smartphone has NVIDIA's Tegra 2 processor inside, making LG the first manufacturer to include a dual core processor in a smartphone.

But that's not the only aspect that's worth talking about the device, as you will see from the specs listed below:
- 1Ghz Dual-core Processor (NVIDIA Tegra 2)
- 4-inch WVGA screen
- 8GB memory (up to 32GB via microSD)
- 1,500 mAh battery
- 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera
- HDMI mirroring
- 1080p MPEG-4/H.264 playback and recording
As clear from the above specs sheet, LG Optimus 2X is the multimedia device that you should have considering the fact that it records 1080p videos and does TV out via HDMI.
The phone will go live in Korea in January followed by launches in UK and Asia. The only thing that will raise a few eyebrows is that it is Froyo powered and won't become pre-installed with Gingerbread. Will this very fact spoil the party for LG?
