Ever since Apple unveiled its magical tablet device the iPad, it has seen a large amount of consumers opt for this very device. There were many apps produced for the iPad but Apple chose to select one as its “App of the Year” and it was Flipboard which is a social magazine app that was launched back in July. As time passed, the app saw periodical updates, however now the app is all set to receive a major update which will make things a lot better.

This particular updates brings much to be excited about as now both Flickr and Google Reader have been integrated in Flipboard to pull in more content through these services as users can link their accounts to browse it via this application. Users will also be able to post Facebook status updates, tweets and photos from anywhere within the app whenever they wish and the app also allows sharing of favorite content across social networks.

Another noticeable change in this update of Flipboard is that the content is shown in an entirely different manner in the app than it previously was. Initially, only a preview of the text used to be presented and if one wished to load the full story, they had to click a “Read on Web” button, however now the page is loaded below the excerpt as one begins to read it, nevertheless depending on the content. If a site features a full RSS feed, the app will then load the content that way, meaning that Flipboard at last uses RSS. The bright side is that users can easily reply to Facebook messages and Tweets from within the app itself and can also send articles to Instapaper if they wish to read them later.

Flipboard for iPad is available free at the iTunes App Store, and can be downloaded from here.
