In this age, when portable devices are all the rage and many people out there use these very devices to read their favorite books and publications, Popular E-reading service Kobo has said that it will be updating its iPhone and iPad applications which will now come with added Instapaper integration.

How exactly will Instapaper integration benefit users of the Kobo application? Well now users will be able to read articles they’ve clipped from the web within the same e-reading app that they use to read their e-books and other digital content.
Instapaper accounts can be easily linked to Kobo by entering the user name and password and once successfully linked, a book with an Instapaper cover comes up on the virtual bookshelf, whose content is automatically updated when web content is added to the Instapaper accounts. As of now, bookmarking, highlights and notes features are disabled for Instapaper articles, however it gives off a reading feel the likes of an e-book.
Last week, a social reading component was added to Kobo for iPad, which is called Reading Life and it lets users to check in to books, win badges and share passages with friends via Facebook, but this was then again limited to the iPad. However work on the addition of Reading Life for applications on other platforms is said to be underway.
The app is available for download free of cost via the iTunes App Store and it can conveniently be downloaded from here.
