Earlier this week we saw Foursquare unveiled a completely overhauled version of its iPhone app which brought photos and comments to the application and it had been anticipated that Android would be getting the update soon as well, and here it is, Foursquare for Android has been updated with photos and comments, along with two totally new home screen widgets.
Photos and comments features are said to be exactly the same on the Android as they are on the iPhone app. Android users will now be able to upload photos during and after checkins, add photos to tips and venue pages, and leave comments on friends’ checkins.
However exclusivity does come to Foursquare for Android in form of the two new home screen widgets as one allows faster checkins and the other highlights the most recent activity from friends.
Foursquare for Android is live now and can be easily downloaded via the Android Market. BlackBerry and webOS versions are said to be launching early January 2011.
