We’ve all seen how fast Airplay media players which allow people having iOS devices to seamlessly stream content to their Macs and Linux machines have become popular, however Windows PCs were left out of the foray. As of now, that problem has been taken care of by developer Apostolos Georgiadis, who has released AirMediaPlayer which allows iPhone, iPod touch and iPod users to effectively stream videos wirelessly to their Windows PCs.

The following pre-requisites are required for the PC to run AirMediaPlayer:
- iOS 4.2.1 powered iPhone, iPod touch and iPad
- Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
- Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 SP1 (free from Microsoft)
- Bonjour for Windows (it is included with iTunes, or you can download the Bonjour Print Services for Windows free from Apple)
- QuickTime from Apple
The best part about AirMediaPlayer is that it would not require users of iOS 4.2.1 devices to jailbreak them, for streaming videos and photo slideshows to Windows PCs. The developer had earlier posted a video showing the running of AirMediaPlayer but later removed it from YouTube, however the app page is still up and AirMediaPlayer has been revised to version 1.0.7, which brings the following changes:
- Photo slideshow
- Volume control in videos
