We’ve been following and covering popular Facebook game developer Zynga for quite some time as we told you when Zynga released FarmVille for iPad, we covered the launch of FarmVille in Japan which was actually called FarmVillage and then we told you about Zynga’s first global launch with its brand new game called CityVille, which has become the most popular Facebook application in less than a month of its lauch, and has surpassed Zynga’s previous Facebook addiction/game, FarmVille in all areas.
Appdata claims that CityVille now has 16.8 million daily active users while FarmVille has 16.4 million daily users and when it comes to monthly users, CityVille has quite a lead ahead of FarmVille with 61.7 million users as compared to FarmVille’s 56.8 million users.
Looking at the collective numbers of other popular games from Zynga as well as CityVille, the game holds two more places in the top five with FrontierVille and Texas HoldEm Poker; these four games together boast a staggering figure of 184 million active users altogether.
Considering the fact that Zynga’s previous titles have been so appreciated, it was not a shocker to see CityVille progress so rapidly among all games available on Facebook, and by the looks of it, neither the company nor its insanely popular games, CityVille in particular, are going away any time soon.
