Facebook Rolls Out Unmerge Option for Page Admins Wishing to Unmerge Their Pages from Places

Back in August, social networking giant Facebook offered to merge its two popular features, Facebook Page and Places Page together, which however did not receive a positive response from Facebook Page admins as the company would have expected. So now, as a response to the frequent requests of Facebook Page admins, they can now unmerge their business’ Facebook Page with their Facebook Places page.

This particular feature has irked many Facebook Page admins in the past, which substantiates the fact that this feature was not at all appreciated by the page admins. So now, a “Unmerge all merged Places” option appears at the bottom of the left-hand Page admin menu, allowing admins to unmerge their two pages, however it should be  noted that this option hasn’t been fully rolled out yet, regardless of that, long-irked admins will finally be able to reverse the process through which they linked their pages.

The biggest drawback to merged pages was that these merged Pages didn’t allow default landing tabs, which are quite important to many users having business Pages on Facebook. However, it is good news that page admins can now finally reverse this process and unmerge their Pages.
