Earlier this year at Google I/O, internet search giant Google showed off "something beyond Froyo" for the music part, this demo showed a revamped music player for the Android platform, boasting features that would allow users to push web-purchased songs to their device while also allowing them to browser their PC’s music library through their device, however quite unfortunately all of those long awaited features did not show up in Gingerbread. However, the new music player has ultimately leaked out with a lot of bugs and without all those previously mentioned features; nevertheless it could give a hint about the future, i.e. Android 3.0/ Honeycomb, for the User Interface part at least.

The video footage of the new version of the music app for the Android has been leaked and was brought to notice by Engadget, this 50 second footage shows differences, albeit minimal, in the Android’s default music app.

The first change one would notice will be the addition of a menu button on the top right, which gives rise to the suspicion that Google might be getting rid of its hardware buttons entirely, or at least making menu functionality a more obvious part of its relevant applications, while going along the video, one may also notice that tapping the application's icon in the top left takes the user to the "home" of the app.

These UI changes definitely give a clear signal that Google is trying to bring the Android experience at par with that of the iOS, and by looking at this design, one can safely assume that this would probably turn out to be quite a competition for the iOS. We’re already anxiously awaiting the launch of Honeycomb, or Android 3.0 as it is going to bring many changes to the Android platform and by looking at this video, it looks like Google has quite a surprise in store for us.
