Putting the SHAtter jailbreak exploit leak behind him, p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team has confirmed a piece of news that may be quite well appreciated by all jailbreak lovers. Joshua Hill, the man who is p0sixninja, has confirmed that the new version of the Greenpois0n jailbreak tool for iOS 4.2.1 boasting iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, 4G and iPad devices, will be coming quite soon, more details given below.
The announcement was made via Twitter, where @p0sixninja said:
Updated version of greenpois0n coming whenever I finish adding these new sandbox patches, sorry this has taken so long
Based on Geohot’s Limera1n bootrom exploit, this new version of Greenpois0n is probably going to be a tethered jailbreak. Greenpois0n was expected to be released around the New Year; however some kernel patches are to be applied in sandbox, which have inevitably caused the delay.
This upcoming version of Greenpois0n tethered jailbreak tool will only apply to the newer models of iOS devices such as the iPad, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 2G (MC Model), iPhone 3GS (New Bootrom) and the iPhone 4. We will definitely update our readers when the new version of Greenpois0n is ultimately released.
