We have been extensively following and reporting every bit of news related to the Redsn0w 0.9.7 jailbreak tool, and now the iPhone Dev-Team has released beta 5 of Redsn0w 0.9.7. Beta 5 is said to fix all sandbox-related issues, as well as Bluetooth related issues on an untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak.

iPhone Dev-Team has also added an anti-piracy plea in a bid to issue a warning for those people who may be pirating the iOS 4.2 beta 3 firmware.

The Team says:

The fifth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!).  Bluetooth is now working (and any sandbox-related issues should be resolved too).

There is actually a Windows version of beta5, but it’s excruciatingly slow compared to the Mac version because it’s forced to use files on your hard drive instead of RAM while it’s processing the very large IPSW images.  It really is very very painfully slow, so we probably won’t be releasing it for testing purposes unless it can be sped up somehow.

The iPhone Dev-Team also says that the Windows version of Redsn0w 0.9.7b5 is almost ready, however it is quite slow to use, so it won’t be released until they fix those performance related issues.

Meanwhile, you can also check out our reports on beta 1, beta 2, beta 3 and beta 4 of Redsn0w 0.9.7.
