Apple iPad 2 To Have Same Cameras As 4th Gen. iPod touch

Folks over at 9to5mac dug deep into the latest SDK and have debunked rumors that the iPad 2 will feature a spectacular 5 megapixel camera, instead it will sport a camera that comes close to 1 megapixel, sort of like what the iPod touch 4th generation has. More on that, after the break.

The site speculates that the camera on the iPad 2 can be similar to that of the iPod touch, meaning that using your iPad 2, you will be able to take shots as well as some cumbersome 720p video, however the question remains whether or not you will be natively able to view that 720p video on the iPad 2.

And while FaceTime has been confirmed alongside PhotoBooth, the front facing camera on the iPad 2 will be a VGA, just like the iPhone 4 and fourth-generation iPod touch The site claims that its sources have told them that ‘K94′ is the iPad 2′s codename and interestingly enough, there’s a K95 in the same file section too.

Having said that, we’ve already seen supposed camera.app images of the iPad 2, and while this tablet is anxiously awaited, the question is: Would you be happy with a 1 megapixel back and a VGA front facing camera on your iPad 2? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
