The Verizon iPhone has been announced and many users in the US are waiting for the public release date for switching their network over to Verizon Wireless. However, they would have to wait until February 10th to get their hands on the Verizon iPhone as the carrier is initially offering the device to its existing customers starting 3rd February, a full week before the general public.

According to the email Macrumors received, Verizon is going to begin pre-order sales at 3am Eastern on February 3rd 2011, while they have also indicated that the pre-sale inventory is limited and when that is depleted, potential customers of the Verizon iPhone will have to wait until the public launch date.
Make sure you have your My Verizon self-serve account set-up online. Orders can only be placed through your my Verizon account. You can register/setup your account at... myaccount.verizonwireless.com
On February 3rd at 3am EST, Verizon Wireless will allow our current customers to order upgrades or new lines to their accounts through your My Verizon online account (make sure you have registered before the 3rd).
Existing AT&T iPhone customers can also trade-in their iPhone for credit when opting for a new Verizon iPhone 4, however it can’t be said for sure at this point whether this will be allowed for non-corporate accounts as well. Regardless of that, the trade-in price list is given below:
- iPhone 2G - 16GB: $60
- iPhone 3G - 16GB: $105
- iPhone 3Gs 32GB: $160
- iPhone 4- 16GB: $280
- iPhone 4 - 32GB: $360
This can prove to be a much easier way for current AT&T iPhone users to switch carriers. The new Verizon iPhones will be shipped in 2 days via FedEx by default or via opting for next day air.
So ladies and gentlemen, starting February 3rd 2011, 'It Begins'
