We have more jailbreak news as MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev-Team has speculated that notorious hacker Geohot may release a new untethered jailbreak very soon.
We have just reported that popular iPhone hacker Pod2g has revealed that he has discovered a new untethered jailbreak vulnerability while work on Greenpois0n RC5 is in full swing which shall bring untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 upon release, which is expected soon as Apple has fixed the exploit rendering Greenpois0n useless for iOS 4.3. This piece of news means that there is at least one new untethered jailbreak tool that has yet to see the light of the day.
What’s exciting to note here is that the date mentioned by MuscleNerd, 2/10/11, is the date when the long awaited Verizon iPhone finally hits the stores for everyone in the United States. So for those who might be looking to jailbreak their shiny new iPhones right out of the box, can be excited!
However, none of this has been confirmed as yet from Geohot himself, let us see if he comes forward with an official announcement.
