The New York Observer reports that Apple is working hard to put an Apple Store in Grand Central Terminal. More on that, after the break.

Sources tell The Observer that the maker of ubiquitous iGadgets—from computers to cell phones—hopes to open a store in the transportation and retail hub, though it has yet to begin the long approval process necessary for opening in a city landmark.
However, the parties supposed to be involved in this matter were not available for comment, considering the fact that Apple is known for keeping a tight check on its major announcements and is said to back out of deals if someone speaks to the press before it does.
So where does Apple plan to put a plethora of high-tech state-of-the-art gadgets in the historic yet always overcrowded Grand Central? Well according to reports, it seems like Apple is willing to put its shrine of high-tech gadgets right in the terminal itself.
Obviously, there is no official word as yet from Apple itself, but considering the fact that hundreds of people visit Grand Central each day, it looks like one store at that venue could do considerable good for sales of Apple products.
We shall definitely update when the final word comes in.
