A rather interesting piece of news has just come in. AppleInsider claims that its near sources tell that Apple is planning to surprise everyone with "near immediate" availability of the much awaited iPad 2 next week. Details on that, after the break.

According to people familiar with the matter, Apple is preparing several of its operating segments to perform functions during the second half of next week that are representative of nothing short of a large scale, consumer-oriented product roll out (not just an announcement). And with official invitations to next Wednesday’s press briefing clearly indicating a focus on iPad, these people believe at least one version of the refreshed device will be in transit to retail outlets during that briefing.

Apple will announce the next iteration to its magical tablet at the upcoming iPad 2 launch event on March 2, which is going to be held at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, which has already been prepared for the event.
As of the rumours we've covered till now, it looks like the iPad 2 will come with at least one camera for FaceTime, a dual-core processor & GPU, whilst having an anti-reflective screen and being thinner than the original iPad. There is no Retina Display on the iPad 2.
Stay tuned as we'll keep you posted on the updates pertaining to the iPad 2 release.
