The Apple iPad 2 is out now and the world just wants to get its hands on it. No doubt, Apple has made the iPad 2 more awesome and spectacular than the original iPad, so much so that the various competitors out in the market are a long way behind the iPad 2 as they still haven't caught up with the advancements in the first iPad, so said Steve Jobs at the iPad 2 launch event. Interestingly, it looks like this may be correct, as according to a South Korea's Yonhap news agency, Samsung plans to reconsider the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 because of the Apple iPad 2. More on that, after the break.

The report claims that a Samsung executive has revealed that the company wants to improve the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in order to compete directly with the iPad 2.
Lee Don-joo, executive vice president of Samsung's mobile division, said that Apple has presented new challenges for the South Korean company with a thinner mobile gadget that is priced the same as its predecessor.
"We will have to improve the parts that are inadequate," Lee told Yonhap News Agency. "Apple made it very thin."
However, it is not only the technical issues that has Samsung concerned. The best thing that Apple did with the iPad 2 prices was that it retained those of the previous iPad, meaning that there was no rise in the price. So Samsung obviously needs a competitive pricing model.
The 7-inch Galaxy Tab was priced at nearly US$900 without a two-year contract from mobile operators, while the price of the iPad 2 starts at $499, with the most expensive model costing $829. Samsung did not announce the pricing details for the 10.1-inch tablet.
"The 10-inch (tablet) was to be priced higher than the 7-inch (tablet) but we will have to think that over," Lee added.
Steve Jobs made it clear in his keynote at the iPad 2 launch event, that 2011 will not be the year of the copycats. However, I believe that the iPad competitors in the market should move on from actually copying, and building to become just like the iPad, rather they should do something unique with their own tablets, they should not let their creativity die, Apple hasn't, not with their tablets, Macs, iPhones, iPods etc, the manufacturers need to see beyond that, may be then we can see some real iPad 2 competitors in the market.
