Previously, we reported that Apple is going to reveal a revamped MobileMe along with iOS 5 this April. Why would Apple be revealing these features in one single event? Its primarily because of the fact that both of these services will be heavily integrated together. It's not confirmed as of now, however, iOS 5 is said to bring a lot of cloud-based features.

Now, further proof comes from the folks at iLounge, the source of which claim that the revamped MobileMe will be coming free of cost. The source, who works in an educational institute, says that MobileMe is going to be a free online cloud based "locker" allowing you to keep photos, videos and music in the cloud.
We already know that Apple has stopped selling the current version of MobileMe, while only a 60-day trial can be opted for as of now. This is probably going to cover the gap until the revamped MobileMe is revealed.
Support for the existing MobileMe version is going to be for a year. This proves that Apple is bringing a totally revamped MobileMe, which is going to be relatively different from the existing version of MobileMe.
