At the iPad 2 launch event, Apple announced a couple of accessories alongside the Apple iPad 2, first of which was a HDMI adapter for the iPad 2 that provides 1080p mirrored output to a LCD TV and the second was Smart Covers. Apple has priced its HDMI adapter for the iPad 2 at $39. A company called Hanwa has revealed its USB and HDMI adapter for iDevices, which actually costs more than Apple's adapter. ¥5,980 to be exact, which is about $73.

The Hanwa USB and HDMI adapter for iPhone, iPad and fourth generation iPod touch is going to output 720p HD video to your television via your iDevice. If you look at the picture above, notice that the dock connector is missing. In place of that, is a USB 2.0 port, which will be compatible with those digital cameras that have mass storage support.

A little mini-USB port can be seen on the Hanwa USB and HDMI adapter, which is there for reducing battery drain. However, don't rely on it to charge your iOS device. If you're looking to get one, call someone up in Japan and have them send it over to you.

Do you think this is better than Apple's HDMI connector? Sound off in the comments below.
