Macgasm shares a rather interesting development according to which the Cupertinos are running out of the original iPad stock.

Head over to Apple's online store and try to purchase the first gen iPad. I say try because you may not be able to purchase the iPad model you want particularly the WiFi models. Initially the 16 GB WiFi model went out of stock and as it stands now all of the WiFi models (32/64 GB) are unavailable for purchase. So now, your original iPad purchase options have come down to three models:
- WiFi + 3G (16 GB)
- WiFi + 3G (32 GB)
- WiFi + 3G (64 GB)
When Apple announced the second gen iPad on 2nd March, it took steps to clear the remaining iPad units by listing them under the Clearance page and offering them on discounted prices. This explains why the WiFi units are no longer available for purchase.
With WiFi models no longer up for grabs, it will be interesting to see how easily and quickly will Apple sell out the WiFi + 3G models which of course are more expensive even after the discounted prices. Are you surprised to see Apple fanatics going for the 2010 iPad and not purchasing the all new iPad 2?
