Consumer Reports: iPad 2 Is The King of Tablets

Consumer Reports, who hasn't been in favor of Apple GSM and CDMA variant of iPhone 4 due to the antennagate issue is in a totally different and pleasant mode for an Apple product. The gadget review and rating site in a press release has revealed what many of us already knew, iPad 2 is the top ranked Tablet.

Consumer Reports were a bit surprised to crown iPad 2 for the following reason:

"So far, Apple is leading the tablet market in both quality and price, which is unusual for a company whose products are usually premium priced,” said Paul Reynolds, Electronics Editor at Consumer Reports. “However, it’s likely we’ll see more competitive pricing in tablets as other models begin to hit the market.”

The review site took iPad 2, original iPad  and other Tablets from Archos, Dell, Motorola, Samsung, and ViewSonic on a rough test drive. All of these tablets were tested on 17 fronts which include touch-screen responsiveness, vesatility, portability, screen glare, and ease of use.

iPad 2, topped the Ratings, scoring Excellent in nearly every category. Consumer Reports interestingly declared Motorola Xoom as the only Apple Tablet competitor, something which I strongly disagree with as the Android Tablet has failed to create a buzz in the Tablet arena.

No doubt iPad 2 is freakin’ rockstar. Brands making competitors to tablets, not the iPad. ;)
