We all know about RIM's iPad competitor, the BlackBerry Playbook. The particular tablet has been shrouded in a mystery for quite sometime until earlier this month when RIM officially announced April 19 as the release date of the Playbook. Now, according to a report, it looks like the reason why BlackBerry Playbook was delayed many times, is Apple. More on that, after the break.

How is Apple behind BlackBerry Playbook delay? Well, the report claims that the touch panel supplier for RIM, Foxlink was overwhelmed with a large number of orders by Apple, hence causing delay for the Playbook release.
Sources from touch screen panel makers also pointed out that PlayBook shipments were postponed for about a month from the original schedule due to a delay in software testing as well as shortage of touch panels because Apple already booked up most of the available capacity
At first, there was significant hype surrounding the Playbook. Now as it has been substantially delayed, critics think that the Playbook will not perform as better in sales, as it could have prior to the delays.
Anyhow, come April 19 and we shall see how the Playbook stacks up against the iPad. In the meantime, check out our BlackBerry Playbook vs Apple iPad 2 detailed comparison.
