The team behind Gmail have done it again. Just a few days ago, they introduced the ability to send emails as text messages on mobile devices. Though the service is still available to select users, it would soon be coming to the general public.
But today's highlight is the all new Voice and Video chat capabilities that Google added to its popular web mail application. The official Gmail blog announced today that it has added the new features which would be instantly available to everyone. All that you need is a plugin which could be installed from within Gmail.

If you are planning to get your hands dirty on the new Windows 7 Pre-beta build, beware that it will automatically expire after a trial period of 30 days.
Unless you attended the PDC 2008 and got an activation key, there is no method to activate Windows 7 forever yet but what we can do is extend the trial time period from 30 to 90 days which is way enough as we shall soon have Windows 7 Beta in our hands in almost less than 2 months.

Windows 7, which was recently unveiled at PDC 2008 comes with some excellent new features and Aero effects.
You can download the Windows 7 Pre-Beta build to test out the new interface, features and functions. The only feature you might miss in the pre-beta build is the new superbar, known as Aero Shake, which initially comes as disabled by default. However using a trick demonstrated by WithinWindow, the new taskbar can be enabled.

The world seems to be addicted to this new 140 character form of communication. Sure Short Messaging Service (SMS) has been around for well over a decade now, but it wasn't put to such a wide use until a couple of years ago.
Almost every Web 2.0 service now has some sort of SMS flavor incorporated in them. And Gmail isn't far behind the rest of pack.

Everyone seems to be loving the new release of Ubuntu i.e. Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex which launched yesterday.
It is a lot more secure and stable as compared to previous releases of Ubuntu. What I personally liked so far is the new 'Carry on a USB' feature which lets you download and install Ubuntu via a USB flash drive instead of burning it to a CD.

We use a lot of IMs in our daily life and to install and manage them all truly sucks.
This is where Trutap steps in. It is a global service for your mobile phone that will let you surf web, use IMs, social networking, blog, send SMS and much more. They have got all the IMs at one place.

A couple of hours ago at PDC 2008, Microsoft introduced the new Windows 7 by giving a demonstration of all the upcoming features and releasing some screenshots for the Windows 7 Pre-beta build.
The features preview point to the same Windows 7 Features we published earlier yesterday and the screenshots quite closely match to the ones we published two months ago as the Confirmed Screenshots of Win 7.
