
Google Ajax Search
For all those of you out there who are still unaware of Google ajax search. Well you are definitely missing some spice in your life. Google ajax search lets you put Google search features in your blog or web site using Javascript which means that search results are delivered without the blog page being refreshed or redirected. You can embed a simple and dynamic search box anywhere in your blog which lets your users search through content on your blog. As the search is done through ajax and does not require any page refresh it makes your blog look very high tech and unique
Installation
You can easily setup Google ajax search in your blog and replace it with your default wordpress search by following the simple steps stated below:
- Download the Google Ajax Search plugin for your wordpress blog
- Unzip the file locally and upload the file Google-AJAX-Search.php to your wp-content/plugins/ directory
- Go to the Plugins page in your WordPress Administration area and click 'Activate' next to Google Ajax Search
- Go to Options > Google Ajax Search and configure your settings and click 'save'
- Place the search box where you want by placing <?php gajaxsearch(); ?> into your theme (most likely your sidebar)
Important Note: To use Google Ajax Search for your blog you will need a Google ajax search API key. To get your key just sign up here for free.
