Oh well I do remember the days when I used to be a newbie blogger. Even today I find myself new to the blogging world however the difference today is that I am much more experienced and more aware of the tactics used in the blogging world.
Tips For Newbie Bloggers
Today I shall share some tips which may be beneficial for the people who have yet to discover the blogging world and may find these tips very useful for their future blogging career. I always learn from my mistakes and here I shall my mistakes through which I have learned a lot.
1. To Domain or Not To Domain
This is the first and the most important decision for a blogger to make while about to start his blogging career. Even the greatest bloggers of all time like Amit Agarwal did not pay more attention to this while starting their blogging career and now rely on other services like Blogger to nourish their blog. The main concept of To Domain or not to Domain is to either start your blog on a subdomain using some online blogging service e.g. Blogger or Wordpress or start your blog on a self-hosted platform using a TLD domain. Both Blogger and Wordpress give you the ease to either have your blog on your own self-hosted platforms or start it using their online free services.
For a blogger this must be a very clear and vital decision as later it can cause great loses. No wonder why even a blogger like Amit Agarwal is afraid to transfer his blog to a TLD domain. He fears he will lose:
- Search Engine Optimization
- Search Engine Ranking Position
- Huge amount of Backlinks and Blog mentions
2. Make Your Blog an Ever Beauty
Design is the identity and emblem of a blog. It is your design which makes your blog stand out from the rest in this huge blogosphere. When starting a blog always make sure that you choose a design which totally suits your blogging needs and gives your users an insight to your blog topics. Having a glossy and colorful design for a technology blog will definitely drive your visitors away just like having a gadget flavor in a personal or fashion blog destroys the blend. Choose your design that exhibits the quality and style of your content. Design is a very important factor in developing a constant readership and getting more traffic.
Not only can an ill-matched blog design be harmful for your blog but at the same time changing your blog design frequently can drive your visitors away. I used to change my blog designs a lot and to be honest the day I gave my blog a final custom theme touch I have seen an increase in my blog readership. There are thousands of themes and styles available for Blogger and Wordpress powered blogs just make sure that while launching your blog you make the right choice for its design.
3. Do Comments and Get Comments
Lots of new bloggers seek the answer to this question “how to get other bloggers to comment on my blog?” Well it seems a painful job in the start but the only way to get other bloggers to comment and visit your blog is to first visit their blog and be a regular reader and commentator there.
The blogging world is a trading world. You get your reward for the hard work and time you put in your blog. Expand your trade and share and discuss your ideas on other blogs whether negative or positive. Give your mind some publicity and let the reward of this publicity be a good readership for your new blog.
4. Choose Your Blogging Flavor
It is a common observation in new bloggers that most of them seek to blog to make money and generate revenue from their blog and always go high paying niches like “Make Money Online” or the very common and famous “Technology and Internet”.
Your Blog is a set of your ideas that you want to share with the world. Though talking about “Technology” or “Making Money Online” may seem interesting in the start but if you think that you cant travel in this train for long then most likely you will either quit blogging or ruin the quality of your articles.
Your blogging flavor should exactly match your style and your personality. If you like fashion then go for a “Fashion Blog” or if you like games then go for a “Gaming Blog” but never go for the glitter. Its not about what content the users are most likely to read rather its always about what “unique” content the users shall prefer to read.
5. Set Your Post Frequency
Its always good to write quality content then writing something that is an over-blended mixture of high quantity and low quality. To write quality content is not easy. You have to free your mind and give your ideas a lift to write an article that is totally uniqe.
Make up your mind to how frequent you can blog daily. Blogging is not the end of the world. You have your family, your social life, your college/school life, your work/job and other million things to take care off. Be clear in your mind that you are going to treat your blogging hobby as a mere hobby and not as an addiction. Blogging is truly as addictive as drugs and if you get addicted to writing 4-5 posts daily like in start I was trust me you are going to ruin your life. So its always better if you set up a post frequency in your mind prior to starting off with your blogging career.

Nice design will give people a good impression, at least people will stick around to find out what is your blog about.
