In May, Microsoft dropped hints about Internet Explorer 8. It is very obvious that Internet Explorer 8 is already under development because Microsoft needs to have an answer for the release of Firefox 3. Previously Microsoft answered the release of Firefox 2 by launching Internet Explorer 7 but it did not come up to user expectations.
Fake Internet Explorer 8 (alpha) Screenshots
I was amazed to see TechToday reporting about Internet Explorer 8 screenshots but came to relief as soon as I read they have already been declared fake. TechToday reports that they got these screenshots from a spanish forum (leneros.com) but it is hell obvious from the images that they have been photoshopped or manipulated. Lets just say the guy created a perfect blend of Internet Explorer 7 and Microsoft Office 2007.
Fake Internet Explorer 8 Screenshot Previews
There are some funny glitches in the photos that the guy forgot to photoshop and here is a list of some of them:
- “WIndows” typo in the Windows Live Web Player
- Custom gradient filler with custom foreground images
- Different background layouts in different screenshots
- Page and words number indication in bottom: Microsoft Office 2007 feature
- Text aligning and format editing in bottom: Microsoft Office 2007 Feature

Below you can see the full versions of the 3 screenshots

LOL
….. What a noob Designer
lol honestly even I could have done better than that
Great Work!
Funny images. Maybe the guy can make some for Firefox 3 lol.
Hi there! Dropping by via Brown Baron’s blog! Congratulations for receiving the Blogging Community Involvement Award
Anyway, I think the layout of the fake IE8.0 in the screenshots is taken directly from the newly released Microsoft Office 2007 because they look strikingly similar. But thank God it turned out to be fakes!
Very funny. Is he the Guy who sold iPhone on eBay before it came? LOL.
Wow! IE 8? Nice imagination! I wonder how Microsoft will react with this one?
