Finally after all that closed and open beta testing the Windows Live Folders has now officially released with a new name and new look and feel. Though seriously I do not understand what benefit is Microsoft expecting after merely changing the name of one of its service but still we know Microsoft has got big marketing plans and strategies and this can be one of them. Though you can not ignore that the new look of Windows Live Folders is simply incredible.
Windows Live SkyDrive is The new Windows Live Folders
Windows Live SkyDrive is the new name of Windows Live Folders and has got a cool new look and a different logo. The cool new look is based upon the look of Windows Live Ideas Services and has that very appealing shining glass effects. It gives you the feeling that you are inside Windows Vista rather than some online web service. The Windows Live Folders Site is now being redirected to the new SkyDrive home.

Windows Live SkyDrive FeaturesThough the very basic features remain the same as that of Windows Live Folders but it seems you will experience something new in SkyDrive.
- New graphics to go along with your new features!
- Easily get back to the SkyDrives you’ve recently visited
- Now you can see thumbnails of your image files
- Drag and drop your files right onto your SkyDrive
- Post your files and folders anywhere you can post html
Microsoft has also launched a new Official Blog for SkyDrive which means you should update your feed marks.
Windows Live SkyDrive Plugins
LiveSide also offers some good Windows Live SkyDrive Plugins for your Live Spaces and Windows Live Writer. Don’t forget to check them out too
Don’t you feel that Microsoft has suddenly inclined towards the web culture a little more than usual? Like it was said that Microsoft is the Computer god and Google is the Web god but it looks like Microsoft is trying to over rule Google. Do you think Microsoft will be able to do that easily?

It seems nice but there are not much users around and also the space is less.
I joined this service yesterday and i love the interface. Hopefully they will increse the space in the future.
Haven’t really looked at the service but I might take a peek later on.
I really like the new feature where you can check the Drives you have recently visited
This can be good if one wants to create a network of online hosted files
