Gmail is getting bigger and better day by day. Recently there was an update in the Gmail code and all the accounts were extended to a big huge ~5 GB (4.5 GB) storage size. This was probably an answer to the recent upgrades of Windows Live Hotmail and Yahoo Mail which now offer 5 GB and Unlimited email storage space respectively.
However considering that Gmail is more easy to use, easy to handle and is extending per second with more and more space I think it is better to use the Gmail space for more beneficial and productive purposes. For example the best way to use this huge amount of online storage space would be to send, receive and share large files while on the other hand we can use it as a spare drive on Windows.
Gmail Drive is one of the very first third party apps made in order to use the Gmail space remotely through Windows instead of using the web browser to communicate between the user and the attachment files.
GSpace, GmailFS, G-Share and Gmail PGD are some other utilities which can help you use your online Gmail storage space as a spare drive on your Windows.
