How to Access Blocked Websites without Using a Proxy

blocked-access.jpgThis Prohibited Access logo would seem familiar to most of you who live in countries like Dubai, Iran, Saudi Arabia etc where the Internet content is being filtered throughout every minute.

Though Internet censorship may help in many ways, it is another way of keeping users ignorant of whats going on around the Internet and around the world.

I have previously discussed many techniques to access blocked websites and bypass web filters. Some of these techniques made use of VPN services while other suggested the use of web proxies but today I have a very new useful technique for you that shall help you access blocked websites.

First of all you need to open a Text to Hex Encrypter service in your browser. Here is one such similar service.

Type in the URL of a web page (which is probably blocked by your ISP e.g. orkut.com) in the string field and hit submit. After a little processing you will see a Hex Encoded for URL. Just copy/paste it in the address bar field of your browser and enjoy.

Note: Please note that this trick only works in Internet Explorer and also remember to encode the text URL in Hex whenever you want to open a new web page.

Doesn’t work in Firefox neither in IE

Hi this is not working! is this Text to Hex Encrypter really works? I don’t think so! Simply waste of time!

I knew someone would say that. Perhaps because I forgot to mention that the trick only works in Internet Explorer.

It won’t work in Firefox.

Dar

It works in Opera as well. Go figure it out.

Hey

Good Job! You helped out a lot. Thanks :)

This crap doesn’t work! sorry but it is still blocked!

Tech Trainer

Hey people, I’m living in a country that blocks lots of services. I found my own solution. I’m using the http://www.strongvpn.com VPN service. Found it in Wikipedia. I was given the USA IP, they say that my traffic is encrypted, may be, but its work! Strongly recommend Strongvpn.

Arsh

Nothing Worked! Failed on I.E

Thumbs Down :(

Use SurfBouncer personal VPN. I’ve used it worldwide and everything goes through. It will even work through a proxy.

Can you please help us. Our computer teacher has lock my space and we want to get on it real bad.

Josh

I don’t know what a text to Hex Encryptor is! Please tell me!

Hey I did this and all that came up was the hex in a Google search…it also said page does not exist…I am doing it in Internet Explorer. What am I doing wrong?

Doesn’t work :(

Hm, could it be that you forgot to mention which version of IE this works in? (I’d be willing to bet on this working in older versions, but that’s just a guess).
Anyway, I don’t know if it would be available for download if your countries block URLs, but UltraSurf is a small tool that does a good job (www.internetfreedom.org/ultrasurf). Works with IE or you can set it up as a local proxy (I’ve tested this with Opera, Skype and QIP) (RTFM if you can’t figure out how to :)).
I hope this helps someone.
