They say that if you want to track the global progress and development of technology you should analyze the breakthroughs that take place in the automobile industry. New vehicles, cars and automobiles are a perfect reflection of how the technology of the world is pacing towards diversity and innovation.

Lately I shared a list of the 10 of the Most Sexy and Stylish Cars followed by a list of the Five Most Sexiest Electrically Powered Sports Car but today I am going to review a totally unique car featuring a technology that will allow people to drive above land as well as under water.

sQuba Car, being developed by Rinspeed is going to be the World's First Ever Amphibious Car. It means that the car will be able to be driven on land or can be even taken under water. It shall have the capability to go as deep as 10 meters under water as beyond that the buoyant force and the water pressure will make the conditions unsuitable for a stable drive.

How does the sQuba Car work?

The car has an electric motor with powerful torque drives the rear wheels. The propulsion on the water is ensured by two propellers in the stern and two powerful jet drives in the bow propel the vehicle under water while diving. With zero emissions, zero pollution in the seven seas of this world. The light weight body with components made of futuristic Carbon Nano Tubes encloses in a streamlined manner the driver and passenger who are supplied with fresh breathing air by the self-contained on-board system.

The car will be released on the upcoming Geneva motor show.

  • Debora
i could enjoy driving under water
  • Imagine going into a pool -- it's easy to simply drop in, but you have to climb out. On a beach I can see it working, but not on a river or lake...
  • lol yeh! this car reminds me of my childhood favorite cartoon character called "Johnny Quest" who had a similar car like this one.

    Good old days :( hehe
  • Cold Fire
    lol...Nice Post!

Driving underwater would be super fun :D
  • Sorry but the picture you see in this post is the only one. I do not have any more pictures of the car.
  • Hi Flush. Very thanks for this post. Can you give anymore pictures of the car?
  • I don't think thats hard to visualize? Just like you would go from land into water through the seashore, you would come back vice versa.

    Simple?
  • I have to wonder: I can see how you go from the land into the water, but how do you get back out again?
  • For me the sea is an awesome place to be. I have lived in Maldives for about 3 years which was the most memorable time of my life and sea diving itself is indeed a great experience.
  • yea, you'll never know until you try. :D
But I kinda hate traveling on sea, so this is not really an appealing proposition to me.
  • lol well driving under water seems kind of fun too :D
  • Nice post buddy. It was a good read. But I would prefer to drive on land. lol :-P
